Modcrosse

Wanneroo-Joondalup Lacrosse Club’s Modcrosse (modified lacrosse) program is a free-flowing, non-contact form of lacrosse to get kids started in the game. It is simple to teach and learn, and a perfect sport for both primary and secondary school children, suitable for ages 5-13.

No experience necessary and a great way to develop sportsmanship

Benefits of Modcrosse

Why choose us?

WJLC has been running Modcrosse for school aged children for years, with many of our senior players starting with Modcrosse then progressing through our Junior program.

We support each player to learn at their own pace, encouraging fun and sportsmanship while developing fundamental skills of catching, throwing and ground balls as well as general fitness.

We are an inclusive club and welcome players of any gender, and any ability.

Where and when do we play?

As a winter sport, Modcrosse runs from April to September.

Where: Penistone Park, Greenwood

Training: Wed 4.30-5.45pm

Game Day: Saturday 8am

Who can play?

Our Modcrosse Program caters for children in our mixed Under 9 and Under 13 competitions.

To play in the Under 9 program, children must be able to hold a stick and follow simple directions (from 5yo).

To play in the Under 13 program, children must be 12 or younger on the 31st Dec of the year.

Progressing from U9 to U13 will be based on their needs and skill levels, not just their age. Nine year olds that require a challenge may be invited to move to U13 while others may benefit from the extra support and development in U9.
